Wednesday, May 25, 2011 Kieran Slevin, MD presented "Evaluation and Management of Axial, Low Back and Radicular Pain." The meeting was held at the LaCollina Restaurant, 37 Ashland Avenue, Bala-Cynwyd, PA 19004. 

Friday, September 16, 2011 and Saturday, September 17, 2011 the POEMS and TSOMA Joint annual Meeting will be held in Harrisburg, PA.  The lecture subjects and other details are in the planning stages.  Please reserve the dates.

This program was intended to present to a target audience(physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants)  an update on more recent topics with specific implications to an Occupational Medicine practice: 1) Outline the process of bariatric surgical patient selection, surgical approaches and post-procedure fitness for duty considerations; 2)outline the current issues in the Genetic Information Non-discrimination Act (GINA); 3) recognize the regulatory and pharmacological history and events that led to the recent increase of prescription drug dispensing in pain management practices; 4) discuss the implications of chronic use monitoring of pain medications in fitness for duty considerations; 5) define the basics of laboratory immunoassay and mass spectrometry testing and its application for drug detection in pain management practices.
